The storm tunes up for a dance

The storm tunes up for a dance,
It hisses and shrieks away;
Hurrah! How the ship is tossing!
The night is wild and gay!

A living mountain of water
Is built by the sea with might;
Here, an abyss is yawning,
There towers a wall of white.

The cursing, puking and prayers,
From the cabin, fill the air;
I cling closely to the mast,
Wishing that at home I were.
